introduction to sheltered housing

Our sheltered housing service provides support to enable elderly residents to continue to live independently; it improves quality of life and promotes good health.

It is about being a part of a small, secure community where support is available when it is needed. The support we offer is tailored to each resident's particular needs as each person is assessed individually upon accepting a tenancy. We understand that people value their independence and aim to help them retain as much as possible.

Sheltered housing offers:

  • A safe, secure and warm place to live
  • Support from sheltered housing staff
  • Continued independence
  • Peace of mind - each property is linked to a Lifeline alarm system
  • Your own tenancy - with legal rights
  • Your own front door
  • An easy to manage home
  • A free repairs service (some restrictions apply)

We manage nine sheltered housing schemes, totalling 517 units, through a team of 10 people. The properties all have their own kitchens and bathrooms and range from self contained flats to bed-sits.

Download our Sheltered Housing Information Pack for full details of all our sheltered schemes and what they have to offer.
